HENRY H. PAULS

Our dear son, brother, and husband, was born on March 22, 1929, in Beaver County, Okla. At the age of three he contracted a serious illness, however, the Lord was gracious and he was restored to health.

In 1934 he came with his parents to Reedley, Calif. Here he attended the city schools and was graduated from the local high school. Here he also attended Sunday school in the Mennonite Brethren Church. He worked in various business places of the city and during the Korean conflict he served his Government four years in the armed forces. To his parents he was always a great source of joy. He was an obedient boy and always willing to help them at anytime in any need.

On Dec. 13, 1950, he was united in holy matrimony to Beverly Parker. This union, which lasted eight years and nine days, was blessed with one daughter, Sheryl.

Henry has a friendly disposition, and therefore found it easy to work with people and make friends. The last years he was working for the Lightner Construction Company of Fresno, Calif. Tuesday night, Dec. 16, he had the misfortune of being involved in a serious cal collision which left him unconscious. He was taken to the hospital and was given the best of care. however, he never fully regained consciousness. He departed from this world about 2:00 p. m., Monday, Dec. 22, 1958. He reached the age of 29 years and nine months.

Those who mourn at his departing are his wife and one daughter, Sheryl, age 6, of Fresno; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Pauls of Reedley; three sisters, Mrs. Maria [sic Marie] Gwendolyn Dick of Turpin, Okla., Mrs. Rea [sic Ruea] Gladys Martin of Reedley, Mrs. Susan Grace Holcraft [sic Holcroft] of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Rev. George J. Pauls of Naturita, Colo. and Franklin James Pauls, U. S. Airforce, Ogden, Utah. There are also many relatives and friends.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley Methodist Church Dec. 24 with Rev. Dan Friesen, pastor of the Mennonite Brethren Church, officiating.
