PETER PANKRATZ
Peter Pankratz, son of Peter H. and Helena Wall Pankratz, was born April 16, 1883 near Henderson, Neb. He received his education in the rural school near Henderson. On June 19, 1907 he was baptized by Elder Peter J. Friesen and received as a member in the Bethesda Mennonite Church of Henderson where he remained a faithful member until his death.
Peter was active in farming until 1916. He retired because of his health and moved to Henderson. Since then he has done much reading, especially in the Bible and other books related to the Scriptures.
In the past three years he had been hospitalized three times, undergoing major surgery twice. On August 27, 1962 he entered the Henderson Hospital again where he died on Sunday, Sept. 23. He attained the age of 79 years, five months and seven days.
One sister, Helena, of Henderson survived his passing. His parents, preceded him in death, and one sister and two brothers died in infancy.
