Isaac Pankratz

Isaac Pankratz, son of Rev. Peter Pankratz, was born in Alexanderwohl, Russia, August 3, 1881. When three years old he came to America with his parents. Upon arriving in America his parents settled in Lehigh, Kansas. Later they moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, where upon confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior he was received into the Sichar Mennonite church by Rev. John Ratzlaff.

On January 3, 1905, he was united in the bonds of holy matrimony with Susanna Froese. To this union God sent ten children, five of which have preceded him into the heavenly abode.

In 1914 the family moved to Montana. Here 7 successive crop failures caused him to move to Oregon. From here he returned to Oklahoma. When his health began to fail he moved to Winton, Calif., in February, 1938. His health did not improve, however, and X-Ray examination revealed the trouble to be cancer of the stomach. After suffering excruciating pains he fell asleep in the Lord, very quietly on the afternoon of February 8, 1939.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, three daughters, and two sons, eight grandchildren, six brothers and three sisters, also a host of more distant relatives and friends. Interment was at Winton, California. Rev. Dillman B. Hess officiated, using I Corinthians 14,2 6.
