HENRY W. PANKRATZ
Henry W. Pankratz was born near Lehigh, Kansas on Nov. 17, 1897, and died Nov. 13, 1952, in Kingsburg, Calif. at the age of 54 years, 11 months and 26 days.
His childhood was spent in Kansas and California. In 1920 he moved to Colorado and lived there on the farm for 21 years. On Jan. 15, 1923, he was baptized and joined the Mennonite church south of Vona, Colo.
On June 17, 1923, he was married to Ida L. Boese. To this union were born six sons and two daughters, of whom one daughter, Viola May, died at the age of one year and nine months. Mr. Pankratz and family also lived at Standpoint, Idaho for six years and in the Kingsburg, Calif. district for five years. He had been in ill health for the last 12 years of his life.
Funeral services were held at the Garner chapel on Nov. 17, 1952, Rev. Paul Stohlberg, pastor of the Colony Covenant church, in charge. Burial was made in the Kingsburg cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ida L. Pankratz, six sons, Orval Ray of Redwood City, Calif., William Lee of Moses Lake, Wash., Aldon Kieth, [sic Keith] Dale Wesley, Vernon and Eugene Henry, and one daughter, Verna Marie, all of Kingsburg. He also leaves five sisters, three brothers and one half-brother.
