Services for Mrs. Ellen Oyer, 83, of Rt. 1, Eureka, ill. were held Nov. 13 in the Metamora Mennonite Church. Mrs. Oyer died at her home Tuesday evening, Nov. 11, after an illness of several months. Rev. Roy Bucher officiated and burial was in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.

She was born June 15, 1886 near Metamora, the daughter of Bishop John and Magdalena Schertz Smith. She was married to Edward H. Oyer on Nov. 29, 1906 in Eureka.

MRS. ELLEN OYER

Services for Mrs. Ellen Oyer, 83, of Rt. 1, Eureka, Ill. were held Nov. 13 in the Metamora Mennonite Church. Mrs. Oyer died at her home Tuesday evening, Nov. 11, after an illness of several months. Rev. Roy Bucher officiated and burial was in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.

She was born June 15, 1886 near Metamora, the daughter of Bishop John and Magdalena Schertz Smith. She was married to Edward H. Oyer on Nov. 29, 1906 in Eureka.

Surviving besides her husband are one son, Dr. Harold Oyer of Mrs. S. A. (Ethel Yoder of Goshen, ind., Mrs. Thelma Noe of Eureka, and Miss Pauline Oyer of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, five brothers, three sisters and one step-sister.

Mrs. Oyer was a member of the Metamora Mennonite Church.
