Pilot of Crop Duster Plane Fatally Hurt

Washington, North Carolina. — The crash of a small crop duster plane in a bean field near Auroa [sic Aurora], N. C. claimed the life of Thomas Overholt, the pilot, a resident of Virginia Beach, Va. before moving here two years ago.

Overholt, 38, was removed from the plane and taken to Beaufort County Hospital here, where he died at 8:30 p.m. The crash occurred on Sept. 13. The cause of the tragedy was not immediately determined.

Overholt was employed in crop dusting work by Stancil Flying Service here. A native of Hartville, Ohio, he leaves his parents of Virginia Beach, three sisters and two brothers. He was a member of the Hope Mennonite Church, Pantego, N. C.
