● Adam Nightingale, 81, of Halstead died Aug. 19 at Halstead Hospital. Graveside services were held Aug. 21 at Halstead Cemetery, with John Gaeddert officiating. A memorial service was held the same day at First Mennonite Church, Halstead. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes Schmidt; one son, Richard Nightingale of Halstead; two brothers, Elmer of Newton and John C. of Burrton; four sisters, Elizabeth Janes, Minnie Brandenberger, Anna Cox, all of Halstead, and Martha Born of Sedgwick; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
