Funeral services were conducted Jan. 30 at the First Mennonite Church in Newton for Mrs. Lydia Nightengale, 92, a lifetime Newton area resident. She died Jan. 28 at the Bethel Home for the Aged. Burial was in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church cemetery at Moundridge. She married Abraham Nightengale Feb 11, 1912. He died Aug. 20, 1980. Survivors include two sons, Lee of Wichita and Warren of Farmington, N.M.; six daughters, Rosalind Dester of Towanda, Dorine Baaer and Verbie Barbeau, both of Wichita, Natalie Wuthrich of Whitewater, Robina Bender of Denver, Colo., and Marilyn Smith of Newton; 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
