Son of Missouri Family Singers Dies In One-Car Accident

Enid, Okla. — A one-car accident here the afternoon of March 1 resulted in the death of Jack Daniel Nickel, 25, son of Rev. and Mrs. Frank Nickel of Springfield, Mo.

The young man was formerly a member of the Nickel Family Singers, who travel throughout the nation giving programs of gospel music.

Mr. Nickel was alone when his car veered off a roadway, hit a tree and fell into a creek bed, where it burst into flames. The cause of the accident is not known.

A native of Lawton, Okla., he enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of last year and had come here to visit his wife before reporting for officers candidate school in Quantico, Va. Funeral services were conducted at an Enid funeral home on March 5. Survivors in addition to the widow include his parents, six brothers and a sister, all of the home in Springfield, and a brother James of council Bluffs, Ia.
