MRS. KATHERINE NEUHAUSER

Mrs. Katherine Neuhause, 81, of R. R. 1, Eureka, Ill., died Saturday afternoon, April 16, in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Smucker, in Winter Park, Fla.

Born May 28, 1884, in Eureka, she was the daughter of Debold and Anna Schertz Householter. She was married Dec. 6, 1904 in Eureka to Amos Neuhauser, who died in 1954.

Surviving are a son, Tillman of Eureka; four daughters, (Ruth) Mrs. Lee Stalter and (Martha) Mrs. John Pappas, both of Eureka, (Mary Ann) Mrs. George Smucker of Winter Park, Fla. and (Esther) Mrs. Harold Schrock of Roanoke, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Neuhauser of Eureka and Mrs. Austin Roth of Morton, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 18 grandchildren [sic great-grandchildren]. A brother and sister preceded her in death.

In recent years Mrs. Neuhauser had spent her winters in Pinecraft, Sarasota, Florida. She was staying a few weeks at the home of her daughter in Winter Park before returning to her home in Illinois when she died very suddenly while talking on the phone to another daughter.

She was a member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church where services were held at 10:30 a.m. April 20, Rev. Norman Derstine officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Bishop Ezra Yordy in charge of the graveside service.
