MARGARET NEUFELDT

Margaret Neufeldt, daughter of Gerhard and Ida Epp Neufeldt, was born on March 26, 1896 on a farm southeast of Inman, Kan., and died June 18, 1974 after a long illness.

She attended the Lake Shore School. During revival meetings conducted by Rev. H. D. Wiebe she realized her lost condition and accepted Christ as her Savior. She was received into the membership of the Hebron Mennonite church and later transferred to the Zoar church. Here she remained a faithful member until her passing.

Our sister found much joy in ministering to others. As long as her health permitted she was active in the Women's Missionary Society and regularly attendee church services. She, with our sister Marie, tenderly cared for our parents until they passed to their eternal reward.

In 1952 she sought medical help and the doctor diagnosed her sickness as Parkinson's disease. In May 1962 she and her sister gave up their home in Inman and moved to the Pleasant View Home.

In July 1963 she was admitted to the Moundridge Hosptial. After a stay of several weeks she went to Unruh's Nursing Home. On March 26, 1968 she broke her hip and had to be hospitalized for ten weeks in Moundridge and St. Elizabeth hospitals. Feeling she needed further nursing care, she was admitted to the Geratrics [sic Geriatrics] Dept. at McPherson on May 23, 1968 where she remained until her passing. She reached the age of 78.

Through all her years of illness — losing her ability to walk, use of hands, loss of speach [sic] and eyesight — we never hear her complain and in or ask why. We have lost a faithful prayer warrior.

She leaves to mourn one brother, George Neufeldt of Buhler; four sisters, Elizabeth, Mrs. George Voth, and Annie, Mrs. George Thiessen, both of Buhler, Ida, Mrs. J. W. Klassen, and Tillie, Mrs. H. W. Friesen, both of Inman; seven nieces and five nephews.

Preceding her in death were one sister, Marie, one brother-in-law George Thiessen, and one niece, Sharon Kay Friesen.
