MISS MARY NEUFELDT

Miss Mary Neufeldt, daughter of Dietrich D. and Sarah Ratzlaff Neufeldt, was born march 6, 1892, near Burrton, Kansas. She was born and raised on the farm of her parents near the Alta Mill in Harvey County. Here she attended the Liberty grade school where she received her formal education.

With her parents she attended the Hebron Mennonite Church from childhood on, and here she learned to know Christ whom she accepted as her personal Saviour and Lord. On August 12, 1906, she was baptized upon her personal confession of faith by Elder Abraham m. martens and became a member of the Hebron Church where she remained a faithful member until her departure form this life.

The early part of her life was lived on the farm of her parents. A part of her girlhood years were spent in Escondido, Calif. About 25 years ago her activities began to be somewhat restricted because of a heart ailment which became increasingly severe until her death. It was about 1940 that she left the farm and moved to Buhler, where she made her home for the rest of her years. She found joy and a sense of worth during these years by helping others in various ways and gladly gave of her time of the use of her car.

In the past year Mary was seriously ill a number of times and spoke freely of going to be with her Lord. Though her strength and activities have been limited for many years, and she has suffered much, she has seldom complained.

On Jan. 2, when her strength was again failing and her breathing was difficult, as it had been numerous times before, she was taken to the Bethel Deaconess Hospital at Newton, Kansas, but her condition did not improve and early Tuesday morning, Jan. 3, 1956, she passed on to her eternal home. She had reached the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 27 days.

Her parents, two sisters, Helen and Anna, and one brother, Jacob preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure three sisters, Elizabeth of Buhler, Sarah and husband C. L. Wall of Burrton, and Katherine of Levy, New Mexico; nine nephews and nieces besides a host of other relatives and friends.
