MARGARET ENNS NEUFELDT
Margaret Enns Neufeldt died July 13. She was born Sept. 21, 1910 to Heinrich Abraham and Margarethe Enns in Petrovka/Lichtfeld, Siberia. In 1923 the family moved to Blumenort, where she experienced salvation and was baptized and received in the MB Church in 1924. Her mother became a midwife, so at age 14 Margaret had to cook and help her father look after 6 younger children. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926, settling first in Zeneta, Sask., and then in 1929 moving to Yarrow, B.C. She did housework in Vancouver and later in Chilliwack, B.C. She married Henry Peter Neufeldt in 1931. In 1947 the family moved to Winnipeg where Henry studied at MBBC. They returned to Yarrow, then moved to Coaldale, Alta., and to Paraguay where Henry taught in Bible schools. They moved to Abbotsford where she cooked at Columbia Bible Institute, volunteered at MCC, ministered at Tabor and Menno Homes, coordinated sewing circles in Yarrow and Abbotsford, and volunteered at the archives of the Mennonite Historical Society of B.C. After Henry died in 2001 she moved into Tabor Manor. Predeceased by Henry, 1 sister and 1 brother, she is mourned by sons Victor, Leonard, Wally, Ronald, Al; daughters Lora and Carol; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral was at Ross Road Community Church, Abbotsford, with Rudy Willms ministering.
