MARY NEUFELD

Miss Mary Neufeld was born on December 4, 1912 in the village of Olgafeld, Russia. It was there she spent her childhood days. On March 17, 1927, she came to Canada with her three sisters (her parents had arrived previously, on September 24, 1965), and together they settled on a farm near Drake, Saskatchewan. In 1942 her mother passed away and the family moved to British Columbia the following year. She lived in B.C. until the time of her death.

Mary was converted to the Lord in 1929, in Drake, Sask., was baptized in 1932, and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. Later she moved to Vancouver.

Outside of a brief illness in 1958, she enjoyed many years of good health. On March 9, 1965, an examination disclosed an illness and an operation was advised. During her illness the visits of brother and sister D. B. Wiens and brother and sister H. G. Classen were a special comfort and strength to her.

Her condition worsened steadily following a temporary improvement, but she kept the faith in spite of long and severe suffering. She reached the age of 54 years, 4 months and 23 days. Her father went home before her on March 21, 1963. A younger brother also predeceased her. She is survived by her stepmother, three brothers and six sisters.
