ISAAC P. NEUFELD

Our father, Isaac P. Neufeld, son of Peter and Aganetha Wiens Neufeld, was born Sept. 10, 1866, in the village of Markusland, South Russia, and passed away at the Home for the Aged in Inman, Kansas on July 6, 1951. He attained the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 26 days.

In 1875, at the age of eight, he with his parents emigrated to America, settling in the Inman community of which he has been a resident the rest of his life, with the exception of two and one-half years when he resided in Oklahoma.

In his youth he realized his lost condition and accepted Christ as his Savior. On June 24, 1888, he was baptized, by Elder Heinrich Toews and received into the Bethel church, of which he remained a faithful member until his death.

On Dec. 5, 1889, he was united in marriage with Katharina Toews. This union was blessed with eight children, five sons and three daughters, of whom two sons and two daughters preceded him in death. On Dec. 5, 1939, our parents were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, which was a great joy to them. Their union was dissolved on Feb. 21, 1940, when our mother passed away.

In his younger days father was often in poor health, suffering from a nervous condition. Later in life, mingled joy and heartache came his way when two of the children left for Africa for lengthy terms of service on the mission field.

After the death of our mother, he made his home with a son and later with the daughter for a period of seven years. In 1948 he became a resident in the Home for the Aged in Inman.

On May 20 he suffered a severe heart attack, which left him in a weakened condition. From this time he was bedfast until he quietly passed away on July 6 at 3:40 p.m.

He leaves to mourn his departure, three sons, Henry B. and Abram B., both of Inman, and George B., Belgian Congo, Africa, at present home on furlough, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank J. Enns, also in the Belgian Congo, Africa; three daughters-in-law and one son-in-law, 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. One daughter-in-law and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

We mourn at his parting, but we joy in the hope of a glorious reunion. — The Family.
