HENRY G. NEUFELD

Henry Gerhard Neufeld died Nov. 22. He was born in Zentral, Ukraine May 24, 1917 to Gerhard G. and Margaretha Neufeld. The family emigrated to Canada in 1926, settling in the Boissevain, Man. area. At 19, he was baptized upon confession of his faith into the Whitewater Mennonite Church. He enjoyed singing in choirs. He married Maria Dyck Oct. 23, 1942. They farmed with his parents and then took over the farm until retiring in 1976. They lived in Brandon for several years and then moved to Winnipeg, where they joined Portage Ave. MB Church. He was interested in and spoke of family members with pride, though not in front of that person. "1 love you" came easier in the last few years. He enjoyed reading, visiting and playing pool with friends. Predeceased by 5 brothers, 1 sister, an infant daughter and a granddaughter, he is mourned by Maria, daughters Agatha Warkentin and Marianne Boulet; sons George, David, John; foster daughter Lucille Cassels; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters. The service was Nov. 27 at Schoenfelder Mennonite Church, St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba, with Robert Warkentin and Claude Pratt ministering.
