Hutchinson, Kan.—About 300 volunteers, including many from Kansas Mennonite Disaster Service, joined in a mass search for the body of 65-year-old Curtis Nelson of Hutchinson the morning of Jan. 13. About an hour later the body was found half submerged in Turkey Creek by Dave J. Ediger, 22, of Buhler. The location was nine miles northwest of Buhler, about a half mile from where Nelson’s car was found stuck in the mud a week after his disappearance on Jan. 20. Mr. Nelson suffered from Parkinson’s disease and apparently became disoriented after leaving his home by car.
