WILLIAM E. NAFZIGER
William Edgar Nafziger was born to Andrew and Elizabeth Nafziger on June 21, 1890 in Alsace Lorraine. He came to the United States with his parents in 1894 and lived in Illinois and Missouri before coming to Oregon in 1918. He farmed in the Pratum-Central Howell community until his retirement.
He was baptized on confession of his faith in Jesus Christ in October 1916. He transferred his membership to Emmanuel Mennonite Church of Pratum, Ore. on Oct 11,1931 and continued his membership here until his death.
He was united in marriage to Mary Zehr on Feb. 25, 1917. To this union were born two sons and twin daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister and two grandchildren.
He entered the presence of the Lord on Aug. 17, 1964 at the age of 84 years, one month and 26 days.
Those surviving to mourn his passing are his wife, Mary; his sons, Edgar of Kent, Wash. and Ralph of Springfield, Ore.; his daughters, Mrs. Emmaline Allason of Bremerton, Wash. and Mrs. Evaline LeCompte of East Sound, Wash.; a brother, Alphonso, of Salem and a sister, Mrs. Esther Stoller of Oroville, Calif.; nine grandchildren, and the many relatives and friends of the church and community.
