MRS. JUSTINA NACHTIGAL
Mrs. Justina Boese Nachtigal was born on July 3, 1888 near Inman, Kan, and departed this life Nov. 23, 1970 at Mercy Hospital Moundridge, Kan. On June 4, 1908 she was baptized by Rev. Abraham Ratzlaff upon confession of her faith in Jesus Christ and was received into the fellowship of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church near Inman.
She was married to Jacob J. Nachtigal on April 7, 1910, and their home was blessed with four children. In 1929, they moved to a farm near Halstead, Kan., at which time they became members of the Garden Township Mennonite Church. In 1945 mother and father moved to Newton and transferred their membership to the First Mennonite Church of Newton, where they remained faithful until their deaths. They were very grateful to God that they could celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 1960. Father passed away in 1965 shortly after the death of a daughter in-law.
In January 1966 mother became a resident of the Memorial Home in Moundridge. She endured much physical suffering during her life but was patient and never complained. Because of her cheerful disposition she found it easy to make friends and enjoyed them very much, especially during the last years at the home.
Survivors in the immediate family are Henry and wife Eva of Fresno, Calif., Albert and wife Edna of Inman, Elsie and husband Leroy Janzen of Halstead, and Elma and husband Lloyd Wiebe of Whitewater, Kan.
She leaves 14 grandchildren four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben and Sam Boese of Lake Charles, Louisiana, four sisters, Mrs. Tina Rufli, Mrs. Bertha Gardner, and Mrs. Sara Summerlin, all of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Mrs. Helen Kliewer of Henderson Neb., and many other relative and friends.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saint!”
