RALPH E. MYERS SR.

Ralph Emmerson Myers Sr. was born June 11, 1907, in McPherson County, Kan., and died at the Albany (Ore.) Mennonite Home on Jan. 13, 2000, at the age of 92.

He was born the son of Reuben T. and Suvilla Eash Myers. Ralph accepted the Lord at an early age, joined the Mennonite Church and remained a faithful member until his death. He married Mildred E. Hartzler near Inman, Kan., Sept. 23, 1928. He lived in Kansas before moving to Oregon in 1945.

Ralph was employed at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., with the Emmert Brothers Logging in Sweet Home, Ore., and retired in 1970 from the Linn Gear Co. in Lebanon, Ore. He was a charter member of Brownsville Mennonite Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and especially being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; five children, Gladys Paulus of Odom, Ind., Hazel Steckly of Carstairs, Alta., Roberta Slagell of Hydro, Okla., Ralph Jr. of Sweet Home and Velma Ropp of Albany; 28 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was held at Brownsville Mennonite Church. Burial was in Gilliland Cemetery.
