Former Missionary To Rhodesia Dies

Freeman, S. D. — Kenneth B. Munger, 36, former missionary in Southern Rhodesia, died at the Balaton, Minn. hospital on Dec. 6 only a few hours after suffering an acute malaria attack, a disease which he had contracted in Rhodesia.

Former of Kadoka, S. D., he was a member of the Bethel M. B. Church at Yale, S. D. After graduation from Grace Bible Institute in 1951, he was married to June Walter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Walter of Freeman. They applied for service in Southern Rhodesia under the K. M. B. Foreign Mission Board and the Evangelical Alliance Mission.

The couple sailed for Africa in December 1952. They served a six-year term there and were in the second year of their second term when forced to return to the homeland because of Mr. Munger's health. He later enrolled at Huron College, Huron, S. D., graduating in June of this year, and at the time of his death was teaching at the Balaton, Minn. high school.

Survivors include his wife, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Munger of Kadoka, and two sisters.
