Former Publishing House Worker Killed

Orrville, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the Martins Mennonite Church near here on Jan. 31 for Martha Ellen Mumaw, 78, who was struck by a car and fatally injured on a Smithville street on Jan. 28.

Miss Mumaw was walking near her home after dark when she was hit by a car driven by an Orrville youth.

A native of Wakarusa, Ind., Miss Mumaw was employed for 25 years as a linotype operator at Mennonite Publishing House, Scottdale, Pa. She moved to Smithville in 1942, and since then had been employed as a practical nurse in this area. At the time of the accident she had been asked to help out at a nursing home near her home.

Survivors include a sister, Anna, with whom she made her home, and five brothers.
