— Mrs. Marie Mueller, 69, of Inman died Saturday evening at the Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bethel Mennonite Church near Inman, with Rev. P. T. Neufeld in charge. A native of Jansen, Neb., Mrs. Mueller had lived at Inman for 20 years. She leaves her husband, Gotthold Mueller, one son and seven daughters, two sisters and a number of grandchildren.

Maria (Quiring) Mueller was born June 18, 1888, near Jansen, Neb., the daughter of Jonas and Katharina (Albrecht) Quiring. When she was three her parents with their family moved to Henderson, Neb. When she was ten they moved to Medford, Okla.

Here she was converted and was baptized May 25, 1901, by Rev. C. M. Wall, and was received as member into the Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

When she was 19 the family moved to Seaborn, Texas, where she and Gotthold Mueller were married Dec. 8, 1908. Through this marriage she took over the care of two children, a daughter Emma and a son Fred. Her son John was born here Nov. 7, 1909. In 1910 the family moved to Guernsey, Sask. where they lived 14 years. Six daughters were born to them here. The family lived through many hardships.

In 1924 they moved to South Dakota, where they lived 13 years. Here also they faced many hardships, including seven years of crop failures. On Oct. 23, 1937, they came to Inman, Kansas, where they have since lived. On June 5, 1938, they united with the Bethel Mennonite Church, whose faithful member she remained to the end.

Her health began to fail in 1942 and constant medical care has been sought. The prayers and visits of relatives and friends were a great comfort to her. She underwent a major operation in 1949 from which she never recovered completely. On March 17, 1958, she was taken to the Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas. After much suffering, she passed quietly to her eternal rest at 9:30 p. m., on March 22,1958. She reached the age of 69 years, nine months and four days. Her marriage was for a period of 49 years, three months and 14 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sorrowing husband, Gotthold; a son Fred and wife Pauline of Blunt, S. D.; seven daughters and son-in-laws, Emma and Abe Schmidt of Drake, Sask., Elizabeth and Ed C. Regier of Moundridge, Marie and Bill Braman of Rocky Ford, Colo., Louisa and William Rozeboom of Coalgate, Okla., Edith and Doyle Pepper of Sebring, Florida, Bertha and Walter Ripley of Onida, S. D., Esther and Carl Weber of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter-in-law Hulda, Mrs. John Mueller of Hutchinson; 33 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helena Engbrecht of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Suzanna Schroeder of Drake, Sask.; two brothers, Frank Quiring of Newton and Joe Quiring of Inman; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Bethel Mennonite Church naer [sic] Inman, with Rev. P. T. Neufeld and Rev. O'Ray Graber, officiating. — The Bereaved Family.
