Obituary

Mrs. Henry Mueller passed away at her home north of town Thursday morning at the age of 72 years and 11 days, following an illness of about six weeks attributed to old age.

Mrs. Mueller had been in poor health the past two years and about six weeks ago her condition became so serious as to confine her to her bed where she was given kind and loving care at the hands of her family and those of a trained nurse, but her condition grew steadily worse, and on Thursday she answered the call of her Creator in the presence of her family.

Katherine (Stauffer) Mueller, daughter of John and maria Stauffer, was born April 26, 1859 in the state of New Jersey, in the year 1863 she with her parents moved to Summerfield, Ill., where on Pentecostal Sunday in 1875 she was baptized on confession of her faith, and received in the Mennonite Church. In te year 1876, she with her parents and one sister came to Halstead which has since been her home. Her only brother passed away six weeks before they moved to this city. Soon after coming to this city she united with the local church whose faithful member she was at the time of her death, having taught a Sunday School class and engaged in other church activities.

On August 6, 1893 she was united in marriage with Henry Mueller and to this union were born five children, three of whom preceded her in death.. She is survived by her bereaved husband, one son Karl Jacob, a daughter, Esther Helen, and one sister, Miss Anna Stauffer of this city.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Mennonite Church with Rev. H. T. Unruh officiating. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Ruth Rose, Miss Edna Ruth, B. P. Krehbiel and Simon Unruh, accompanied at the piano by William Schowalter. The attendance was large and the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful as evidence of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was made in the city cemetery.
