Mrs. Anna M. Moyer

Mrs. Anna M. Moyer, the oldest child of Christian and Agnes (Krebill) Eymann, was born July 2, 1850 in Ashland County, Ohio. When she was six years of age the family moved to Donnellson, Iowa, where the father died a few months later. In the year 1858 her mother married John C. Eberle, who in every way fulfilled the duties of a father in the family. The deceased united with the Mennonite church in the year 1864, of which she remained a member until death. Most of her education she received in a parochial school, Rev. Christian Schowalter being her teacher.

April 19, 1874 she was united in marriage with Rev. M. S. Moyer, who then was a teacher in the Mennonite Seminary at Wadsworth, Ohio. During the years 1874-1878 the family lived at Bluffton, Ohio, where her husband was teaching during that period. Then they moved to Fortuna, Mo., where during the years 1878 to 1901 her husband served as teacher, minister and farmer. In 1901 Deer Creek, Oklahoma became their home, the father passing from this life there in 1903. Since 1920 Mrs. Moyer had her home with her only daughter, Mrs. Rudolf Mueller, and family near Halstead, Kansas, where death came on July 12, after seven months of failing health, due chiefly to the infirmities of old age. She reached the age of 81 years and 10 days.

Three sisters and one brother remain to mourn her departure, three brothers and two sisters having preceded her in death. Also one daughter, four sons, who died in infancy, one son-in-law, four daughters-in-law preceded her into the beyond. Twelve grandchildren survive, four having died in infancy.
