MRS. LINA BIXLER MOSER

Lina (Bixler) Moser entered this life on August 20, 1879, and was called to her eternal home on March 26, 1953, at the age of 73 years, seven months and six days. She was the daughter of Daniel and Katherine (Hofstetter) Bixler of near Dalton, Ohio.

On April 16, 1897, she publicly confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and thereupon was baptized and received into the Sonnenberg Mennonite church. At a later date she was taken into the fellowship of the Salem Mennonite church of which she was a member at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage on February 25, 1906, to David J. Moser who survives. To this union were born four children, one of whom, Herman Leroy, preceded her in death in 1943. Those surviving her are: Ivan, of Dalton, Mrs. Martha Rhodes, of Rockford, Ohio, Rollin, of Markle, Indiana, and one foster daughter, Virginia Weuthrick, of Wooster; also three daughters-in-law; Mrs. Mabel Moser of Dalton, Mrs. Jane Husted of near London, England, and Mrs. Jane Moser of Markle, Indiana.

Of her family, one brother and one sister remain: Daniel, of this community and Barbara Loganbill, of Mission, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob and David, and six sisters, Mrs. John P. (Anna) Welty, Mrs. Dan S. (Elizabeth) Amstutz, Mrs. Joel S. (Mary) Amstutz, Mrs. Will I. (Sarah) Gerber, Mrs. John C. (Mattie) Gerber, and Mrs. Simon S. (Fannie) Amstutz.

Also surviving to mourn her departure are nine grandchildren who have been privileged to experience the kindness and embrace of a loving grandmother. In addition a host of relatives and friends remain.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 29, at the Salem Mennonite church with her pastor, Rev. Irvin E. Richert, officiating. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church.
