Retired Farmer Suffers Fatal Heart Attack

Kalona, Iowa. — Funeral services for Moses J. Mishler, 78, a retired farmer and long-time resident here, were held Dec. 9 at the Eat Union Mennonite Church.

Mr. Mishler was working at his usual tasks at the farm home near here when he suffered a fatal heart attack. His lifeless body was found in the farm shop by his wife.

A native of Honeyville, Ind., Mr. Mishler came to this community at the age of 21. He was married here to Catherine Yoder, who died in 1954. His second marriage was to Ella May Handrich of Fairview, Mich., and she survives with two sons, three daughters, three step-daughters, and a number of grandchildren.

MOSES J. MISHLER

Funeral services for Moses J. Mishler were held at 10 o'clock Dec. 9, 1965 at the East Union Mennonite Church, Kalona. Ia. Ministers in charge were A. Lloyd Swartzendruber and J. John J. Miller. Burial was made in the East Union Cemetery. Mr. Mishler died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at his farm home northeast of Kalona on Dec. 6 at the age of 78 years, six months and 18 days.

He was born May 18, 1887 near Honeyville, Ind., the son of Jacob C. and Sarah Miller Mishler. He moved to Iowa at the age of 21 and lived in the Kalona vicinity since that time.

He was married Jan. 28, 1909 near Kalona to Catherine Yoder. She died Feb. 25, 1954. Mr. Mishler was married to Ella May Handrick Miller on Nov. 15, 1957, at Fairview, Mich.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Jacob and Robert of Kalona; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Yoder of Archbold, Ohio, Mrs. George Keim of Pigeon, Mich., and Mrs. Ernest Swartzendruber of Kalona; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Floyd Yoder and Mrs. Vernelle Handrick both of Fairview, and Mrs. Truman Zook of Gulliver, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
