Boy Killed When Thrown From Wagon

LaGrange, Ind. — An eight-year-old Amish boy was killed in a farm accident near here the evening of July 5.

Vernon O. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora N. Miller of Route 4, LaGrange, was driving a horse and wagon at the Joe Frey farm when the animal bolted for an unknown reason, throwing the youth head first onto the roadway. He suffered a skull fracture and was dead on arrival at the LaGrange County Hospital.

Besides his parents, the boy leaves three brothers and four sisters, all of the home; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Tobe Yoder, all of the rural LaGrange; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Susie Miller, Topeka.
