JULIUS MILLER

Julius Miller, son of Peter and Catherine Miller, was born in Waldenburg, Germany on June 12, 1883. He died July 18, 1964 at the Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford, Okla. after a lingering illness of two years, age 81 years, one month and six days.

He came to this country at the age of six with his parents, brothers and sisters. They settled in Illinois. Later the family moved to Iowa and in 1895 they came to Oklahoma, settling on a farm northeast of Hydro. He grew to manhood there.

He was married to Lizzie Grieser in Beemer, Neb. on Jan. 8, 1907. Except for two years in Texas they made their home near Hydro, Okla. on a farm.

He is survived by his wife Lizzie, four daughters, Annie, Mrs. Wm. Ehrisman of Beemer, Ethel, Mrs. John R. Detweiler of Hesston, Kan., Ruth, Mrs. Kenneth Masoner of Porterville, Calif., and Mary, Mrs. Bill Easton of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Paul and Melvin, both of Pueblo, Colo.; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Zimmerman of Hydro, Mrs. Otis Rockhold of Weatherford, Okla., and Mrs. Fred Weigman of Claude, Texas; and one brother, Pete, of Clifton, Ill. His parents, two brothers and an infant son preceded him in death.

During the last months of his life he gradually became weaker and was a bed patient for two weeks. He was lovingly cared for in his home by his wife and sister-in-law, Mrs. Frieda Miller. He was very patient during his illness.

He was a member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church at Hydro and attended faithfully as long as his health permitted.

Funeral services were conducted July 21 at the Pleasant View Church by Alva Schwartzendruber assisted by Rev. Schmidt. Six nephews served as pall bearers. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
