Retired Teacher And Farmer Dies at Goshen
Goshen, Ind. — Ira Y. Miller, 87, retired teacher and farmer of the Middlebury community, died at Goshen Hospital on Nov. 23.
Mr. Miller began teaching at the District 3 School (now Lake Grange) in 1905. He had 26 students in grades 1 through 8, and received $1.98 per day. He continued teaching for 31 years.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, where the funeral was conducted Wednesday, Nov. 26.
