Early-Day Amish Settler In Kansas Dies, Leaves 338 Descendants

Haven, Kan. — Mrs. Fannie Bontrager Miller, who was among the early-day residents of the Amish settlement at Yoder, died here July 8 at the age of 95.

Born at Middlebury, Ind. on Sept. 20, 1875, she was married here to Andrew F. Bontrager in 1894. He died in 1940, and in 1943 she married Rev. Jacob H. Miller. He died in 1951.

Mrs. Miller leaves a total of 338 descendants, including four sons, seven daughters, 66 grandchildren, 214 great-grandchildren, and 47 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday forenoon at the Enos Schrock home east of Yoder. Ministers in charge were Bishop Jonas P. Borntrager, D. K. Borntrager, and Rev. Harry Diener.
