Ohio Retired Minister Dies at Farm Home

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Funeral services for Rev. Alvin W. Miller, 74, retired minister of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, were held at the church on Jan. 18.

Rev. Miller died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Jan. 16, at the farm home near her e, where he had resided the past 48 years. His body was found in the barn where he had gone to do the morning chores.

Ordained to the ministry in 1926, he had served the Walnut Creek congregation until his retirement in 1959.

Survivors include his widow, the former Ida Beechly, with whom he had shared nearly 50 years of wedded life; three sons, four daughters, 17 grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
