Birth date: 1881 Feb 10
text of obituary:
MRS. SUSAN MILLER
Susan, daughter of David and Lizzie (Yoder) Weaver, was born in LaGrange county, Ind. Feb. 10, 1881, and passed away at Midland hospital, Midland, Mich. at the age of 73 years, nine months and nine days.
On Nov. 15, 1911, she was united in marriage to John Milo Miller of Alto, Mich. who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1925. To this union were born three daughters, Janet, Mrs. Lloyd Short of Midland, Eloise, Mrs. Harold Groff, of Lake Odessa, Mich., and Pauline, who died at the age of eight months.
Surviving are the two daughters, two stepsons, Clarence Miller, of Lebanon, Mo. and Francis Miller of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Mahlon Weaver of Shipshewana, Ind. and Silas of LaGrange, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Hostetler and Lizzie Yoder of Middlebury, Ind., and Rose Blough of Windber, Penna:, and many other relatives and friends.
Early in life she united with the Forks Mennonite church, later transferring her membership to the Bowne Mennonite church at Clarksville, Mich. of which she was a member at the time of her death.
For the last 12 years she had made her home mostly with her daughter Janet at Midland. The remaining time she spent with her other daughter Eloise, and when the need presented itself helped others whenever she could. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She had not been well for nearly six years. On Nov. 1, 1954, it was learned that she had diabetic gangerine [sic] and on Nov. 2 she had a stroke from which she never recovered. Her passing is her gain and our loss, but we know she is at rest with her Savior.
Services were held at the Bowne Mennonite church on Nov. 21, 1954. Rev. D. A. Yoder of Elkhart, Ind. and Rev. T. E. Schrock of Clarksville, Mich. officiated.
