YOUNG FARMER OF ORRVILLE COMMUNITY DIES OF INJURIES
Kidron, Ohio. — A young farmer of this community and his sister-in-law were victims of a car-truck collision while en route home from Indiana where they had attended a funeral.
Funeral services were held at the Kidron Mennonite church Oct. 2 for Eli E. Hershberger, 25, of Orrville, who succumbed to injuries suffered in an auto accident about a week earlier. His four-year-old son, Vernon, suffered fractures of both legs in the same accident. Other survivors include his wife, the former Erma Hostetler, daughter Nancy, 3, his mother, Mrs. Fanny Hershberger, and a number of brothers and sisters.
Instantly killed in the same accident was Miss Katie Miller, daughter of Mose Miller of Apple Creek and a sister of Mrs. Hershberger. Funeral services for Miss Miller were held at Apple Creek on Sept. 27.
A large congregation attended the services for Mr. Hershberger, conducted by I. W. Royer and Harold Bauman of the Orrville Mennonite church, of which he was a member. He had operated the farm of Oscar Amstutz east of Orrville for the past five years.
