Injuries From Fall Off Scaffold are Fatal.

Kalona, Ia., June 18. — Joseph J. Miller met sudden death Tuesday, June 16th, at 2 o’clock p. m. while working on a new house that he was erecting for himself in the north part of Kalona.

He was accompanied by three helpers, and he was working on a high scaffold and made a misstep on a defective place breaking through the first scaffold, landing on his feet on the next scaffold below. He lost his balance, however, and fell to the ground on his head with such force that his neck was dislocated, death following almost instantly.

Funeral services are being held Thursday, June 18, at 1:30 p. m. at the old Miller homestead where his youngest son, Jake now resides. — Kalona News.
