Fatal Two-Car Crash Near Middlebury, Ind.
Goshen, Ind. — A two-car collision at the intersection of state Highways 13 and 120 north of Middlebury Aug. 18 claimed the life of Delbert Miller, Sr. 47, of rural Wolcottville, Ind.
The Miller car collided with one occupied by an Atlanta, Ind. couple and their infant daughter, who were hospitalized but are recovering. Mr. Miller, who was traveling alone, died a short time later at the Elkhart hospital.
Survivors include his widow, the former Emma Schmucker; two married sons, and three sons of the home; and his mother, Mrs. David Slabach of rural Lagrange.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Emma Mennonite Church near Shipshewana.
Another accident the same afternoon near Syracuse claimed the lives of two women, raising Elkhart County's highway death toll so far in 1965 to 15.
