As a young man he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was a faithful member of the Yoder Mennonite Church at the time of his departure.
For nearly two years he had been living with his daughter Mary. He will long be remembered as a kind father with a concern for all, a friend of children, a helpful neighbor, and having a special love for singing. He expressed keen interest in the spiritual needs of his family and others around him.
