EMIL MIELKE

Emil Mielke of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away on December 16. He was born on September 19, 1890 to Gustaf and Rosalie (Ulrich) Mielke. In September 1911 he left for Germany and was conscripted into the army there. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour in October 1913 and was baptized in February 1914 into the First Baptist Church. In October 1919 he married Maria Krueger. The couple immigrated to Canada on May 25, 1927, settling first in Herbert, Sask. and then in Kelstern, Sask., where they joined the MB Church. There he taught Sunday school and was also Sunday school superintendent and assistant to the leader. In 1964 they moved to Clearbrook, where his wife died on December 23, 1967. On October 13, 1969 he married Mrs. Elizabeth Unger. He leaves to mourn his wife and her family: two sons, three daughters, 21 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.
