A native of Caernarvon Twp., Lancaster County, he had won many livestock awards in expositions and farm shows during his career as a farmer. In 1946 he harvested 734.07 bushels of potatoes per acre and was proclaimed “Potato King” of Lancaster County.

He was a trustee of the Conestoga Mennonite Church, a director of the Conestoga Christian Day School, and a past director of the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers' Assn.

Prominent Farmer, Stockman Dies

Lancaster, Pa. — Funeral services for Jacob K. Mast, 67, prominent farmer of the Elverson community, were held recently at the Conestoga Mennonite Church.

Mr. Mast died at his home on Route 2, Elverson, the night of Jan. 2.

A native of Caernarvon Twp., Lancaster County, he had won many livestock awards in expositions and farm shows during his career as a farmer. In 1946 he harvested 734.07 bushels of potatoes per acre and was proclaimed “Potato King” of Lancaster County.

He was a trustee of the Conestoga Mennonite Church, a director of the Conestoga Christian Day School, and a past director of the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers' Assn.
