Arthur, Ill. — Funeral services were held April 1 at the Arthur Mennonite Church for Daniel Mast, 32, who was instantly killed in a highway accident while serving among the Metis people in the Marlboro, Alberta area, about 130 miles west of Edomonton {sic Edmonton].

It is reported that Mast and his co-worker, Verlin Swartzendruber of Wellman, Iowa, had pulled off of the highway to refuel their pickup truck when they were hit by an incoming car. Swartzendruber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Swartzendruber, was injured but is recovering at his home in Marlboro.

Mr. Mast leaves his wife, the former Jo Ann White of Peoria; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy H. Mast; two brothers and four sisters.
