Little Girl Fatally Burned When Stove Ignited Dress

Atglen, Pa. — On May 3, thirteen days before her second birthday little Marjorie Ann Martin of the Blue Ball community climbed from a chair to the top of the electric range and pushed two buttons on the range.

A short time later her mother Mrs. Wilmer Martin, found Marjorie Ann with her dress in flames. She died about eight hours later in the Ephrata hospital. Burns covered about 75 per cent of her body, but immediate causes of death were smoke inhalation and burns in the lungs.
