One Killed and Another Badly Hurt in Crash.
Moundridge, Kans., June 25. — The crash of two cars driving at a high speed last Thursday resulted in the serious injury of both drivers, one of whom, Pete Martens living west of Moundridge, passed away at the Halstead hospital on Sunday. Mr. Martens sustained a concussion of the skill and serious cuts about the body, while the other, John Kuhns of McPherson, also suffered serious cuts and bruises.
The accident occured at a corner south of Moundridge, where farmers working in the field immediately rushed to the scene upon discovering the wreck.
As reported, Mr. Martens had to be literally unwrapped from around the steering devise of his car, although both cars were about equally demolished. Both men were unconscious and appeared lifeless when removed to be taken to the hospital.
Mr. Martens was a member of the Mennonite church near Inman.
