I, Sarah, Krause, was born on the 11th of March, 1887, near Jansen, Neb. My parents, Peter and Margareta (Thiessen) Krause, were concerned about the spiritual welfare of their children and did all they could to acquaint us with God's Word. At the aqe of 12 years, I accepted the Lord as my personal Saviour, was baptized by Elder Jacob Wiebe on the 25th day of June, 1899, and was accepted into the Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Church at Lehigh, Kansas.

After the death of our father, our mother with my brother Herman and myself moved to Reedley, Calif. and joined the fellowship of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. Eighteen years later my loving mother went home to be with the Lord.

On Sept. 3, 1928,with the help of the Lord and much prayer,I joined in holy wedlock to Dave H. Mack and tried to take the place of a mother to his seven children. Although I have made many mistakes,God in His wonderful grace and love has always helped me and to Him belongs the honor and glory.

On Nov. 9, 1941, on a Sunday evening as we were preparing to go to church, I suffered a heart attack, fell and broke my hip, which caused me to stay in bed for five months. During this time of sickness I have felt the Lord's love and kindness to me in a special way. Much love and kindness was shown to me in this time, which only the Lord can and will reward. I found much comfort in these songs: "This World is not My Home," "O Think of the Home Over There," and "When I Take My Vacation in Heaven."

Our mother's faith has been tried and tested many times during her last 17 years of life. Due to a heart ailment, she has never been strong. In spite of her condition, she had a great longing to serve her Saviour by making garments for those in need here at home as well as for missionaries on the field. This somehow filled her longing to serve on the mission field. In her early youth she had felt the call for a special service, perhaps on the foreign field. Since this couldn't be accomplished, we as a family feel that her mission field was our family. She had been a faithful prayer warrior, daily remembered out family in prayer, and was concerned that all should meet her in Heaven.

Mother was patient in suffering and exemplified a life of faith and trust in her Saviour. As a family we are grateful to the Lord that he gave unto us one who carried a great concern for our spiritual welfare, and as a result of her prayers our family has been drawn to the Lord.

Our parents shared companionship together for 31 years, nine months and 14 days. the Lord blessed their efforts and labors and they never suffered want.

On May 17, 1959, at7:50 p.m., after many months of severe suffering the Lord called her Home to be with Him.

She leaves the following who will miss her, but are grateful that the Lord has taken her from this world of suffering and woe to her home in Glory: her husband, Dave H. Mack; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fleming, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Leppke, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mack and family of Dinuba; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mack of Miama [sic Miami], Florida; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Flaming and family of Pico Rivera, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Mack and family of Lynwood, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Lizzie Kohfeld of Blaine, Wash.; one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. — The Family.
