text of obituary:
Christian P. Luginbill was born at Bluffton, Allen County, Ohio, on September 4, 1843, and died at his home at Moundridge, Kansas, on August 1, 1930, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 27 days.
On the fifth of March, 1868, he was baptized and accepted as a member into the Mennonite Church.
He entered the bonds of holy matrimony with Anna Lehman on the 26th of March, 1868. For a little over 58 years they were permitted to pass through life together, till death took the devoted wife from his side on October 27, 1928. Eleven children were born into their home, two of which preceded the father in death. Soon after their marriage they moved to Elkton, Missouri, where they lived on a farm for about five years. Early in 1878 they came to Kansas and settled near Moundridge. Thus they experienced the pioneer life of this community and lived here since that time. In the spring of that year they united with the First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge, Kansas. The departed brother remained a member of this congregation since that time. In his death we lose the second oldest member of this congregation.
The deceased had been failing in health for some time. For a number of weeks he was bedfast and although he did not complain of great pains until about two weeks before he was called to his reward, he seemed to realize that his life was drawing to a close. He looked unto Christ in faith and expressed assurance that all was well with his soul. The final summons came gently and he passed away quietly.
Besides his four sons and five daughters, 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother, four sisters and many other relatives cherish his memory. — Moundridge Journal.
