On March 13, 1967, Mrs. Lowen suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized for an extended period of time. She was n and out of the hospital during the next few years. She was able to live at home for the last three years, until about five weeks before her death.

MRS. EMMA LOWEN

Emma Lowen was born to John and Mary Kunkle on Feb. 11, 1894, in Parker, S.D. The Lord took her home to Him on April 15, 1972. She reached the age of 78.

She was raised on a farm near Marion, S. D., and a a girl attended the Silver Lake M. B. Church with her parents.

On Dec. 29, 1914, she married Jake Lowen in Marion, S. D. Following their marriage they moved to a farm in Saskatchewan.

In May 1916 both she and her husband accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. In August of the same year, they were baptized by Rev. Jacob Ewert and joined the Maine Centre M. B. Church.

In 1921, the Loewens ['sic' Lowens] moved to Detroit, Mich. After several years in Michigan and Texas, they moved to Salem, Ore. in 1936. They joined the Dallas M. B. Church when they arrived in Salem, and in 1941 they became members of Kingswood Bible Church.

Those remaining are her husband; one daughter, Lillian Penner of Reedley, Calif.; two sons, Clarence and Marvin, both of Salem, Oregon; three sisters, Kathryn Wiens of Salem, Oregon, Helen Hiebert of Bakersfield, Calif., and Lydia Fast of Marion, S. D.; two brothers, John M. Kunkle of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Rev. Albert L. Kunkle of Cedar Ridge, Calif.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lowen rejoiced in the fact that all the members of her family know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. — The Family.
