Edna (Miller) Long was born on Oct. 2, 1897 near Wauseon, Ohio. After a lingering illness she passed away in the Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Ill., on Feb. 12, 1963. She was the daughter of the late John H. Miller and Elizabeth (Greiser) Miller of Wauseon, Ohio.

Early in her life she was baptized upon her profession of faith in Christ, in the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, Ohio by the late Bishop Eli Frey of Fulton County. Her formal schooling was in the Fulton County, Ohio schools and at Goshen College.

On June 22, 1927 she was united in marriage to C. Warren Long of Goshen, Ind. In 1930 she and her husband moved to Peoria, Ill. to take charge of a city church. It is here that she gracefully performed her task as a pastor's wife, mother and church worker for 17 years. In 1947 to the fall of 1948 she maintained a home for the family in Goshen while her husband was doing relief work in Europe. In 1949 she with her husband moved to the Tiskilwa community where her husband became the pastor of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church. The past 14 years of her service have at various times been curtailed due to ill health.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Thelma Clarice Gibson of Goshen and Althea Lorraine Albrecht of Tiskilwa and seven grandchildren; her step-mother, Fanny Miller of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Short of Pettisville, Ohio and Anna Miller of Rittman, Ohio; two brothers, Uriah Miller of Wauseon, Ohio and Henry Miller of Archbold, Ohio.

Services were held Feb. 15 in the Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa, directed by John Detwiler. The memorial message was by Rev. Laurence Horst of Chicago. Burial was in the Willow Springs Cemetery.

EDNA LONG
