Quinton Ralph Lohrentz of Hutchinson, Kansas was born to Henry and Margaret (Friesen) Lohrentz on Jan. 26, 1929, in Harvey County, Kansas. He was baptized upon his confession of faith in Jesus Christ in June of 1945 by Rev. T. A. van der Smissen and received into the membership of the Hebron Mennonite Church.

He was united in marriage in Rosa Mae Schmidt on Aug. 7, 1949, by Rev. Henry Franzen. He transferred his membership to the Buhler Mennonite Church on June 3, 1951. Two children were born to this couple.

He enjoyed working with his hands. This ability to fix things was appreciated by the families, and it gave him his occupation, that of a service technician for Sears, Roebuck and Company. Death came as a result of a truck-train accident on Nov. 3, 1967, while on duty in his occupation. He had reached the age of 38 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Mae; the children, David Keith and Margaret Ann; his mother, Mrs. George Buller and her husband; five sisters, Luella, Mrs. Alfred Mueller of Halstead, Mrs. Ruth Thiessen of Texas, Irma, Mrs. Miles Alden of Illinois, Dorothy, Mrs. Marvin Ediger of Buhler, Nora Jane, Mrs. Eldon Graber of Pretty Prairie; and other relatives and friends.

Killed in Kansas Truck-Train Crash

Hutchinson, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Buhler Mennonite Church on Monday for Quinton R. Lohrentz, 38, of Hutchinson, who was killed in a truck-train accident in Geneseo, Kan. on Nov. 3.

Mr. Lohrentz was a service technician for Sears-Roebuck, and had lived here for the past two years. Surviving include his widow, the former Rosa Schmidt, a son and daughter of the home.
