&#8212; Jacob R. Lohrentz, 79, a resident of Friendly Acres retirement home in Newton, died at the home on Sept. 3 after a brief illness. The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church, with Rev. Marlin Kim and Rev. Robert Suderman officiating. Mr. Lohrentz lived in the Moundridge and Buhler communities most of his life, moving here in 1956. He was a member of the Hebron Church at Buhler. Surviving are his widow, of Friendly Acres home; two sisters, Anna R. Lohrentz of Hesston and Mary R. Lohrentz of Canton; and two brothers, Peter R. of Moundridge and John A. of Newton.
