HOMER G. LOGANBILL

Homer Gilbert Loganbill, son of John P. and Anna Moser Loganbill, was born in the Bethel community, northeast of Versailles, Mo. Jan. 3, 1887, and passed away at St. Mary’s hospital in Jefferson City on April 25, 1951, at the age of 64 years, three months and 22 days.

His death was caused by a stroke which came upon him four days prior to his death. He had been afflicted with coronary trouble for several years.

Mr. Loganbill spent his entire life in the Bethel community. He united with the Bethel Mennonite church and was baptized April 13, 1906. He remained a faithful member until his death.

On Dec. 24, 1916, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Elliott and to this union were born two sons, Albert of Paramount, Calif. and Earl of Newton, Kans.

His vocational interest centered in his farm and he was diligent in his work.

Surviving besides his wife and sons, are: four grandchildren; his father, who is a patient in the hospital in Newton, Kans.; one brother, Oscar; four sisters. Miss Elizabeth Loganbill, Mrs. Arnold Funk and Mrs. R. B. Enns, all of Newton, and Mrs. John Epp of Nebraska; and one aunt, Mrs. Mary Lehman. He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.

Funeral services were held from Bethel church on Friday, April 27, at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. Arnold Funk officiated. The closing prayer was offered by Rev. P. P. Hilty. A quartet composed of L. V. Aeschbacher, Elmer Garber, Daniel Garber and Roy Garber, accompanied by Mrs. Elmer Gerber, sang "There’s Nothing Can Help Us Like Prayer” and "Beautiful Land.”

Pallbearers, all cousins of the deceased, were: R. G. Hofstetter, Waldo Hofstetter, Victor Hofstetter, Silas Hofstetter, Harold Moser, and Sol Loganbill. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Loganbill, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Funk, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Enns and Miss Elizabeth Loganbill, of Newton, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. John Epp of Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Loganbill and baby of Newton, Kans.; Albert Loganbill of Paramount, Calif.; Miss Beth Elliott, Columbia, Mo. and Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott, St. Louis.
