MRS. MARIA LOEWEN

Mrs. Maria Loewen was born to Henry and Barbara Holzrichter in Klefeld, Russia on Nov. 11, 1872. At the age of 13 she came with her parents to America.

She was married to John B. Loewen on April 9, 1895. To this union were born four sons and four daughters. After living in Kansas, Oklahoma and Idaho for a few years, our parents moved to California in 1919, and to Reedley in 1930.

Mother was converted in her childhood and received baptism on July 20, 1895. She had been a faithful member of the Reedley M. B. Church since 1939. In 1945 our parents were privileged to commemorate their golden wedding anniversary. Father passed away on Aug. 18, 1949, at the age of 81.

Mother remained in her own home until four years ago when she moved to the M.B. Home for the Aged. Since last summer she had resided in Pleasant View Manor.

She passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Jan.15, 1967, having reached the age of 91 years, two months and four days.

She leaves to cherish her memory eight children, Barbara, Mrs. B. B. Hamm, Hillsboro, Kan.; Katherine, Mrs. Pete Koslowsky, Goessel, Kan.; Jake, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Sam Wall, Lodi, Calif.; Emma, Mrs. Ewald Gaub, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Frank, Stockton, Calif.; Sam, Los Angeles, Calif.; Lenort, Reedley, Calif.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Anna Toews, Buhler, Kan.; one brother, John Holzrichter of Kansas; 23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
